Welcome to Acorn Food Safety Training

Acorn Food Safety Training is committed to providing practical supportive training in the workplace. Our courses are fully accredited by the Institute of Environmental Health.

All our courses are tailored to suit each individual business and learner’s needs.

For only just £20 we can provide your staff with the basic ‘in house’ training certification or For just £35 the CIEH food handlers level 2 training and qualification.

Our tutors are members of the Institute for Learning and are all highly qualified practicing head chefs and College lecturers who have years of experience in kitchen management both writing and developing food safety policies and procedures that are both practical and user friendly.

Confidence in the management of Food Safety is a key factor Environmental Health Practitioners take into account when assessing Hygiene Standards and the consideration they make when deciding the  ‘Scores on the Doors’  award for a Food Business. In 2013 it will be a legal requirement to display your environmental score on the door of your business. We can now offer guidance and support to help your business to  achieve a 5 star rating which can now be used to your advantage over competitors to improve your business reputation and sales. Customers are in future going to be advised by the FSA to consider the star rating when choosing a venue  to eat or hold a function. For a business to have such qualifications demonstrates management commitment to high food safety standards and can only improve customer confidence and business reputation.

We offer help and support in developing Risk Assessments, working with the Food Standards Agency ‘Safer Food Better Business’ system for the small business and the development of a full HACCP policy for large scale food business. Check out our food safety tips!
